Airway dentistry is a type of dental care that focuses on identifying and treating issues with the airway that impact breathing, especially while you sleep. Narrow airways, structural imbalances, or oral issues such as jaw alignment can contribute to sleep disturbances like snoring or sleep apnea. Airway-focused dentists like Dr. Daniela Brzozowski use specialized techniques to address these challenges and promote both oral and overall health.
Patients of all ages can benefit from airway dentistry. Children with breathing difficulties, individuals suffering from sleep apnea, or people experiencing constant snoring often gain significant relief through personalized care. Airway dentistry may also help prevent certain oral and overall health issues that occur due to chronic mouth breathing or poor sleep quality.
Dental sleep medicine is an aspect of airway dentistry that focuses on improving your sleep through oral appliances and other interventions. If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea or snoring, Dr. Daniela Brzozowski provides a custom oral device designed to keep the airway open during sleep. This allows you to rest deeply and wake feeling refreshed.
Airway dentistry treatments vary depending on each patientโs specific needs. They may include oral appliances, orthodontics, or even myofunctional therapy, which actually strengthens the muscles involved in both breathing and swallowing. At Caring Smile Dental, we work closely with you to create a treatment plan that is custom-tailored to your needs.
If you or a loved one experiences symptoms like snoring, daytime fatigue, restless sleep, or difficulties breathing through your nose, it might be time to visit Dr. Daniela Brzozowski at Caring Smile Dental.
